Timeless Wedding Hair and Makeup

Our beautiful artist Kim got married on May 13th and we were blessed to do her hair and makeup.
The look we created was such a beautiful and classic bridal hair and makeup look that I wanted to share it with you.

Kim is wearing a custom made Steven Khalil Gown and her wedding was at the Four Seasons Ball Room.
These photos were all taken on an Iphone so I can’t wait to see the professional shots soon by Cinemotive.

Complexion

Like most of our brides Kim wanted her complexion to be both flawless and glowing so here is how I achieved that:

Laura Mercier Radiance Primer all over the face.

Mac Face and Body C5 foundation mixed with Nars Sheer Glow Punjab and Syracuse and Mac Strobe lotion.

Kryolan concealer was applied around the centre of the face for longevity and buffed into the skin with a beauty blender to ensure it looked both natural and flawless.

Under the eyes we used Kim’s own concealer Cle De Peau which I will now be adding to my kit.

Laura Mercier Peach Glow cream blush was buffed into the cheeks.

Mecca Enlightened Lit From Within Illuminating balm was placed on the cheek bones.

Hourglass Dim Light Ambience Powder was used to set the whole face.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Glow highlight and bronzer was used to subtly enhance her delicate bone structure.

Nars Gaiety and Deep Throat powder blush was added to the apples of the cheeks.

Mac Fix Plus was sprayed to ensure the base is dewy and followed by Skindinivia Setting Spray.

Eyes

For the eyes we wanted to create a classic look, think Audrey Hepburn, whilst ensuring it was contemporary.

Primed the eyes with Mac Layin Low paint pot.

On the lid I mixed 3 Mac colours to create a subtle sheen Woodwinked, All that glitters and Shroom.

Tom Ford Coco Mirage was used to create a soft, matte brown socket. The shadow was kept quite light in the socket and corner to ensure the liquid liner and lashes were the main feature on the eyes.

The black liner was a combination of Stila Stay all day liquid liner with Mac Blacktrack gel liner on the top (2 layers for longevity). This was thick and winged out for a classic Audrey Hepburn feel.

Modelrock lashes 266 were applied as well as a full set of double cluster individual lashes and mascara.

Under the eyes was kept soft with a little By Terry Bronze Moon for definition and the light brown from Tom Ford’s Coco Mirage palette.

Benefit Eye Bright pencil was applied in the bottom, rim to make the whites of Kim’s eyes really fresh and white

Hourglass Soft Brunette brow pencil was used to create a defined and full looking natural brow

On the lips

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lip liner.

Lipsticks Bobbi Brown Ballet Pink mixed with Mac Coral Bliss.

 The Hair

To compliment the stunning Steven Khalil dress it was important to keep the hair style simple but still a statement so we went for a beautiful chignon.

Our artist Susana blowdried our favourite product White Sands Firm Hold Spray into all of the hair.
Then she straightened Kim’s hair with her cloudnine straightener.

Susana put most of the hair into a tight ponytail, leaving out the front. As Kim has so much hair this was a three step process to ensure it was slick and secure so it did not drop or loosen throughout the day.

The front of the hairstyle, the fringe was blowdried and teased to create height.

Texturising Powder was added to help with the hold and to ensure the front looked soft.

After that Susana swept all of the fringe back into the ponytail so there was no visible part.

Shine wax and hairspray was used to smooth out any fly-aways.

She then flipped the ponytail up and towards Kim’s face so it sat flat against the hair, then she pinned the ponytail at the crown using the half bungee technique to secure the pony down onto the crown of hair hair.

Next Susana used one oblong brown hair padding, folded it in half and bobby pinned it together to form the shape desired for the pony to wrap around.
The the oblong padding was pinned to the head under the top of the crown where the ponytail was pinned up to.
Then she brought the ponytail down from above the padding, teased it and pinned it all into place around the padding.
