Those of you that have had your makeup done by me know I love luxury products and my kit is stocked full of them. Sometimes though paying bills and household expenses are more important than buying the latest Chanel blush so I searched high and low to put together a list of great drug store products for you that are as good as their luxury competitors.
All the products pictured above will ensure you have a fully stocked makeup bag, and the best part is together they only come to $100!
Ok I’ll admit the total is $100.80 but I was pretty close
Here are the 8 products pictured above that will fully stock your bag for $100 (prices from Priceline):
Primer Face of Australia $11.95
Foundation Revlon Colour Stay $25
Blush Maybelline Fit Me $7.95
Mascara Maybelline Volum’Express Falsies $15
Eyeliner Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof $9.95
Eyeshadow Maybelline Colour Tattoo $10
Bronzer Natural Colour $15.95
Lipstick Savvy Lipstick $5
Below is a list of the products featured above plus more with a brief description:
Face of Australia Face Base Primer $11.95
I will let you in on a trade secret, this primer is known to be a dupe of a much more expensive primer. It is oil free and contains soothing camomile. It has a great feel to it and will help keep your foundation in place.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation $32.
It feels creamy, has medium coverage, photographs well due to no SPF and have a beautiful finish, the perfect balance between matte and dewy
Revlon Colour Stay. $25
This was the first foundation I ever bought and I love it just as much now. It has great coverage and comes in many colours. It even has 2 formulations depending on your skin type.
Rimmel Natural Bronzer $15.95
This bronzer has a beautiful natural colour and blends really well, it is great for contouring.
Maybelline Fit Me blush $7.47
This blush is perfect for someone that wants a soft, natural glow. Only downside is like all drugstore blushes I hate the brush it comes with.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Mono Blush $9.95
It really does have great staying power. I love the rose and the coral
Maybelline Tattoo $10
I just adore this product because it is so easy to use. You don’t need a brush you can use your finger. For daily use I like “Inked In Pink”
Revlon Colour Stay $23.95
What I love about this quad set is they have selected the right colours for you so you don’t need to buy separate shadows to create a whole look. It has a fantastic silky formula that makes blending easy.
Well this was a hard one to choose because everyone has a different opinion when it comes to mascara. Ultimately it comes down to brush preference but I always choose a mascara that will give me really big, thick movie star lashes. I should also mention I do love L’oreal mascara’s but I haven’t listed them in this blog because for a drugstore brand they are a little pricey here in Australia.
Covergirl Lash Blast Clump Crusher Mascara $17.95
Maybelline Volum’ Express Falsies Mascara $15
Nude By Nature $14.95
They have 2 colours and the formulation isn’t too waxy unlike most drugstore brands. The blonde shade is my go to for all blondes because the shade is perfect, not to warm at all.
Rimmel Scandal’Eyes Waterproof EyeLiner $9.95
These babies really don’t budge and they are highly pigmented and creamy
Savvy Lipstick $5
They are an absolute bargain but the price does not reflect the quality.
Revlon Lustrous Lipstick $21.95
Rich and creamy, need I say more.
Rimmel 1000 Kisses Stay On $8.50
A great range of wearable colours that will keep your lipstick on for longer
