Sometimes it can be hard to articulate what you want when you get your makeup done because you aren’t familiar with the terminology or trends. So we’ve put together a few of our most requested looks by us and described them so you know exactly what to ask for. I have tried to include 2 examples for every look as I want you to see that a similar look on two people can look totally different to one another.

Classic Smokey Eyes – this means dark all over the lid. You can choose the colour scheme you wish to have but right now earthy browns are trending, like the images below. The smokey eyes below are what I would call a mid-toned smokey look, meaning it isn’t as dark as some smokey looks.
Light Smokey Eyes – this appears dark around the lash line but is still light on the eye lid so it opens up your eyes on camera and isn’t as dark as a traditional smokey eye.
This look can appear less or more dramatic depending on whether or not you have liner in the inner rim. Below doesn’t have eye liner in the rim:
This example does have eye liner in the inner rim:
Natural and Dewy or bronzed and dewy – dewy means luminous, light reflective skin. Strobing is a newer term that means the same thing (highlighting the high points of the skin). It’s what you will see when you flick through the fashion pages of Vogue, its chic, simple and flattering.
*Note – unless you have professional studio lighting it can be hard to see all the glow and highlight in photos but in the flesh you will be luminous
Bold lips – you can choose any colour you like red, coral, berry, pink. A bright pink is popular with our summer brides, a berry or plum is popular with our winter brides and red of course will always be classic and timeless.
Classic eyes – a combination of soft smokey shadows and a defined lash line
A prominent and defined eyeliner along the top lash line.
Natural makeup/ very fine liquid liner
Perfect for someone that isn’t used to much makeup and wants a natural look.
Different colour combinations on the eyes.
If you are unsure of colour combinations here are some to give you ideas.
Thank you for reading, we hope to make you up for your next event.
