Earlier in 2017, Gemma participated in the Walk for Equality and joined with hundreds of other Sydney siders in support of this important cause. Gemma Nichols Hair & Makeup Artistry has always been, and will continue to be, a safe space for anyone. People from every walk of life, every age, every gender, every ethnicity, every sexuality are welcomed and pampered by the team. Everyone deserves to look their best! Malcom Turnbull said this recently, ‘This is Australia: fair, diverse, loving and filled with respect’. We can’t help but agree and it these same values which drive Gemma Nichols Hair & Makeup Artistry.
The end of 2017 brought a monumental and long awaited step forward in Australia, the legalisation of same-sex marriage. Here at Gemma Nichols Hair & Makeup Artistry, we couldn’t be happier – we love love! Our team spends a lot of time at weddings and we know how important these joyous days are. Love doesn’t discriminate and neither do we. Gemma and the team have always been big supporters of marriage equality, long before the Australian government got on board. It is an issue which Gemma feels deeply passionate about and she couldn’t be more excited that every Australian now has the right to get married.
Same-sex marriages
In the decade of Gemma’s career, she has been lucky enough to be part of many, many weddings. Her team at Gemma Nichols Hair & Makeup Artistry loves helping people make their special day just that little bit more special! A significant number of these weddings have been same-sex marriages. One of these weddings has been featured in Cosmo this month in celebration of same-sex marriage legalisation. The two beautiful brides shone on their wedding day thanks to the brilliant work of Gemma and her team. But, these two love-birds are actually tying the knot for a second time this year – now that it is recognisable by law.
Gemma is excited to be part of their second wedding, commemorating this momentous occasion not just for the couple but for the rest of Australia too.
